Primary School Chinese Teacher, Dulwich College Singapore

Mr. Runzhen Zhai is currently a primary school Chinese teacher at Dulwich College Singapore and serves as the Project Lead for the "Mandarin Learning Principles" initiative. He primarily teaches Chinese to students in Grades 3 to 6 and brings over 14 years of experience in international Chinese language education.

In his teaching practice, Mr. Zhai upholds a student-centered approach and emphasizes the integration of teaching, learning, and assessment. He is dedicated to building a systematic and sustainable instructional framework that effectively enhances students’ language proficiency. As a former PYP (Primary Years Program) Coordinator at an international school, he has been deeply involved in curriculum integration, instructional design, and teacher training, demonstrating strong leadership and collaborative capabilities.

Mr. Zhai has also contributed to the development and review of YCT exam papers, gaining in-depth knowledge of international Chinese assessment standards and evaluation systems. He is deeply committed to improving the quality of Chinese language instruction and continuously explores effective teaching pathways within international curricula.

He believes that high-quality Chinese education can only be achieved by integrating content with students’ interdisciplinary skills, applying sound assessment strategies, and fostering warm, interactive classroom environments.

We are excited to launch the Meet Our Speakers series, offering an early look at the exceptional educators who will be sharing their insights during our upcoming online forum, Empowering Chinese Teaching with HSK: A Practical Journey, taking place on June 14.
