The HSK Speaking is the official speaking counterpart to the written HSK test. 

There are three levels: 

• HSK Speaking Beginner – for learners at HSK 3 

• HSK Speaking Intermediate – for HSK 4 

• HSK Speaking Advanced – for HSK 5–6 

While HSK Speaking was optional in the past, it is now increasingly required alongside written HSK exams, especially from HSK 3 and above. Many universities, scholarship programs, and employers in China and abroad now require both written and spoken certifications.
